Born and raised in the wilds of Los Angeles, Allison Chaney is a genre writer who delights in telling rich relationship-driven stories with dynamic female leads. Her mission is to bring diverse voices into mainstream television and film through gothic tales, fantasy adventures, and period drama. In 2020, Allison was named “Rising Star” in the Glyph Comic Awards for her comic book series, Love University. That same year, she penned an independent feature, Queen Rising, that eventually hit Memphis theaters in 2022. Allison was selected as a mentee by TV writer/showrunner, LaToya Morgan (Duster, The Walking Dead, Shameless) for the 2022 Unlock Her Potential class, where she had a chance to learn the ins and outs of the industry through monthly mentorship meetings with a highly respected seasoned professional. Allison has also developed a working relationship with a Ugandan producer and has been hired to write a feature film that has been green-lit abroad. Her feature, Maybrook Society, has also been tapped by a new production company for possible development. Allison loves to adapt material into features and pilots. Based in Los Angeles, Allison is shopping her pilots, Poe and American Town, and hopes to be staffed on a show similar to Wednesday, Yellowjackets, or Cruel Summer or obtain a feature / adaptation assignment in the vein of Enola Holmes, The School of Good and Evil, or The Inheritance Games.
