About Us

Black Vine Network (BVN) is an independent creative collective developing original scripted and unscripted projects. We’re building a writers’ room where passionate storytellers can collaborate, grow, and develop content with future production and pitching in mind. While this is currently an unpaid, volunteer-based opportunity, all participants will receive credited recognition on projects (including IMDb listings) and the chance to be part of a growing creative network. Check us out here!

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with the writers’ room to develop original concepts, pitches, and scripts

  • Contribute to story development, treatments, and dialogue writing

  • Participate in virtual evening & weekend sessions (EST time zone)

  • Optional: Join in-person collaboration sessions on the East Coast (when opportunities arise)

What You’ll Gain

  • IMDb credit on BVN projects

  • Hands-on experience in a writers’ room structure

  • Opportunities to join production days and learn the on-set process

  • Creative mentorship and peer feedback

  • A supportive space to build your portfolio and sharpen your voice

  • Networking opportunities with other emerging creatives

Requirements

  • Must be a creative writer or have a strong interest in creative writing (screenwriting, fiction, or similar background preferred)

  • Based on the East Coast (EST preferred) or willing to work on an EST-aligned schedule

  • Comfortable with remote collaboration tools (Zoom, Google Docs, ClickUp, etc.)

  • Available most evenings and weekends

  • Open to feedback and collaborative storytelling

  • No prior professional experience required — we welcome emerging voices

Important Note

This is a volunteer opportunity only. There is no pay, stipend, or employment relationship at this time. All team members, including leadership, are currently contributing on a volunteer basis as BVN develops its slate of projects.

As BVN continues to grow and secure partnerships and funding, there may be opportunities for paid positions or contracted work in the future. Any such opportunities will be discussed transparently with the team when they arise.

How to Apply

Send us:

  • A short introduction about yourself (your background, interests, and what stories excite you)

  • A brief writing sample (5–10 pages of script OR 1–2 pages of prose)
