Seeking Writers for Scripted Comedy Series (Unpaid | Credit + Paid Priority for Season 2)
This is a fully remote writers room. Writers from across the U.S. and Canada are welcome to apply.
Ever worked a job where you showed up not even sure whose problem you were solving today? That’s the world we’re writing.
A scripted comedy series is in development and the writers room is being built. The concept has range, the characters have layers, and the setting is one most people have either worked in or been on the other end of – and survived to complain about.
We’re not looking for people to fill seats. We’re looking for writers who actually want to build something.
Priority needs:
Cold opens and comedy punchlines are the biggest gaps right now. If that’s your wheelhouse, lead with that.
We’re also building out the room with writers strong in character development, plot structure, dialogue, scene pacing, and emotional moments. Overlap is welcome. If you write in multiple lanes, say so.
What this looks like:
Weekly writers room sessions, episode outlining and scripting, collaborative revisions, and creative development from the ground up.
What you get:
Writer’s credit on the project and genuine writers room experience. Season 1 writers have first consideration for paid positions when Season 2 is greenlit.
To apply:
Complete the interest form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf97AVJ8QDefUhEZ7Ki5Li2pbWmJH4IjYCCxVA787WtJbHnsg/viewform?usp=header
Then email a writing sample to info@prestigecreativeservices.com
Subject line: Writers Room Application – [Your Name]
Full project details and show vision are shared with approved applicants only.
Accepting applications from April 20 - May 11.
Hi D’Juana,
I came across your call for writers while scrolling on the my screen, and it was the intent behind the room that stood out to me immediately not just the concept. I notice you’re not just assembling writers, you’re building a collaborative engine, and that’s the kind of environment I work best in.
My background sits at the intersection of character-driven storytelling, structural precision, and tonal control, with a strong focus on how scenes land. both emotionally and rhythmically. While my core work leans toward thriller and psychological narratives, I bring that same discipline into comedy, particularly in how setups, reversals, and character contradictions drive punchlines.
Where I can add the most value to your current needs:
--- Cold opens that establish tone quickly while anchoring character dynamics
--- Punchline construction rooted in character behavior rather than surface-level jokes
--- Scene pacing that balances comedic rhythm with narrative progression
I’m also comfortable working across development layers from breaking story to refining dialogue and.
I’ve completed the interest form and will be sending a writing sample separately as requested.
Appreciate what you’re building here, I’d be glad to contribute to shaping it.
Best regards,
Elara
