Jairo Neto is a filmmaker and creative producer.
His latest documentary, "Stories From Afterwards", shot during 2020, has received critical acclaim and awards across Brazil and internationally.
He also has already directed the documentaries "Caçadores de Assombração" (Haunt Hunters, 2017) and "Eu Sou o Coração do Carnaval" (I'm The Heart of Carnival, 2013), selected for festivals in Europe and Brazil, such as Mostra Sesc de Cinema and In-Edit Brasil.
In 2020 he received the Funarte Respirarte government grant for his video "Sou a Tigresa" (2020) and served as a creative producer for the AmarElo docuseries for GNT Channel and Vai Por Elas for Discovery Channel Brasil. His master's degree thesis was published in 2019 regarding the use of first person narratives in south american documentaries. In 2017 he had a project selected at the DocSP marketplace with the Lente Viva production company.
