Though I've always toyed with the idea of being a sportswriter, I've finally veered away from journalism and completed my first script, a romantic comedy set in 1980s Scotland. I enjoyed doing it so much I'm currently mapping out a second, a love story set in punk/post punk London, and after that there'll be another one and then another one and so on. If someone likes one of them enough to turn it into an actual film, then great. If they don't, well at least I can say that I've fulfilled my ambition of writing a screenplay before I kick the bucket.
What's my aim when I write? To create something fresh and a little bit different.
