About John

I am a native of the San Francisco Bay Area. I have steadily been making experimental and narrative short films at a low to no-budget level for well over a decade. Applying my creativity and resourcefulness to every stage from Conception to Development. From Pre-production to Production on through post. I've been working at the crafts of screenwriting, directing, shooting, and editing for 20+ years. Making my living the past decade as a videographer and video editor for platforms from Non-Profits to International Advertising Agencies. I've worked on shoots and edits for Awards Watch and Cult Epics. And self-produced a series of shorts both analog and digital along the way and in which way I could. My shortcomings lie in exhibition and financing. When money is needed for say, film festivals, my resources run dry in raising funds. So, in addition to collaborators, I would love to meet familiar with helping see a project big or small through that final hurdle. I tend to gravitate toward projects that are more visual than verbal. Experimental, character-driven, and atmospheric. I want to walk out of the film with something to chew on.

Unique traits: I'm resourceful. I'm drawn to working with less. Creativity for me is so much about making something from nothing. So, less is more and more is gradual.
