About Kevin

Filmmaker, Kevin Callies was born and raised in Oklahoma City and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a BFA in Media Arts. The first feature that he produced and edited, THE A-LIST, was released the summer of 2015 domestically on DVD, VOD, and Netflix through Freestyle Digital Media. Post-production was completed at Skywalker Sound and Light Iron.

A feature script he wrote was a finalist in the 2015 Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition. Out of 8,627 submissions, it was in the top .05% and is one of only five scripts in its category.

He has also written, produced, and directed four shorts films that have screened in over thirty-five film festivals worldwide, garnering fourteen nominations and three awards. His family short, THE MAN IN THE RED SUIT, received global distribution on iTunes and ShortsTV through SHORTS International.

Storyboards I did for, KEEPER OF THE MYTH. A Fantasy | Sci-Fi | Horror short about five kids who go camping in the Northern Rocky Mountains and encounter a Mythological Creature

The film screened in 35 film festivals worldwide, garnering fourteen 14 nominations and 2 awards. The Creature is never seen on-camera. His presence is insinuated through the camera moves, sound design, and score. Sometimes what is left for our imagination is more frightening than what we actually see.

Through These Eyes (2005)
Film (Thriller and Short) Director, Screenwriter, Producer, Editor It was on a Halloween night after Steven and Mallory had left their friend's party, that the two found themselves in a situation that inevitably threw their lives a curve ball. Steven finds himself standing up for his girlfriend face to face against three guys. What comes out of it is a blind sided sucker punch that shatters his jaw. This was not a meaningless punch thrown by a costumed stranger. It was Mallory's ex-boyfriend James who committed the crime. Now with his jaw wired shut Steven is faced with the decision to press charges, or to take matters in his own hands. Although Mallory tries desperately to help Steven swallow his hunger for vengeance. It's Steven's friends Mark and Ben who eventually persuade him to look for James.
