About Lauren

Lauren Ivy is a practicing artist and Production Designer based in Los Angeles. She received her BFA from Northern Illinois University in 2005, and attended graduate school for drawing and painting at the San Francisco Art Institute.
After a decade of progressive, exploratory art practice, Lauren migrated naturally into the realm of film. She caught the bug working in the art department of Gia Coppola's first feature film, Palo Alto. Subsequently, she has created several original works of art for the screen and currently works as Art Director and Production Designer for independent films, television & advertisement. You may see some of her handy work on the soon-to-be-debuted web series Boyish, written by comedian Lianna Carrera and directed by Anna Margarita Albelo.

Unique traits: Amazing draftsman, fabricates original works for the screen, rents out personal property for discount, great trouble-shooting on the fly, extremely hilarious.

  • Boyish

    Boyish (2015)
Television by Anna Margarita Albelo Production Designer I am creating this show because often times we learn the greatest life lessons from the least expected places. Because each of us are more than our perceived labels. Because everyday we keep friendships that cross lines of personal politics, sexual orientation, religious beliefs and more. Because the odd couple pairing is a delight. Because there's rarely three dimensional of representation of boyish women who look like me on television (Except for maybe you, Ellen D!). Because what does boyish even mean anyway? Because this (where it applies) is not a coming out story. It's a story that catches audiences up to a group of androgynous women and their non androgynous friends ten, fifteen years later - after whatever it is we were so sure of in our 20s. A group of newly 30 somethings, from varying backgrounds who have one thing in common: struggling to hit milestones and being afraid that when we do, it'll be far from what we want.
