My name is Lilo (LeeLow) and YES, I had the name well before Lilo and Stitch came out. And even before Lindsay Lohan was tapped by the Paparazzi and given the nickname. My Grandmother "found" the name while getting her nails done in Bayside, Queens-(On the hunt for an L name) It presented itself as she and the manicurist chatted about her sisters. Although they were German and weirdly enough, so is my full name, I have no German ancestry. That I know of. I am a true muttagree of Russian, Austrian and Polish decent.
I began my career on Broadway in Evita. Landed that job by singing Happy Birthday to the Late, Great Harold Prince at the Broadway Theatre at the tender age of eleven. And boy, do I have stories!! Imagine being on Broadway in the early 80’s when the XXX rated “adult” places were still very much alive and well. Back then it was almost customary to audition at the actual theatre a production was taking place.
I studied Musical Theatre at Wagner College and continued the journey doing Summer Stock in shows like "City Of Angels" and performed Children's Theatre and Murder Mysteries throughout the tri state New York area. I even performed at a Dude Ranch In Michigan. I did learn how to line dance and two step and found an appreciation and love for Country Music. And Cowboys who taught me to ride a horse! ;)
I have continued my love and passion for Acting from New York To Los Angeles. While living in LA I studied Meisner and am an Improv Olympic Alumni. Did a TON of 99 seat theatrical play productions. But went full circle and landed myself back in my Hometown of Long Beach, NY. Just in time for Super Storm Sandy. I'll save that story for when we chat.
I am currently studying and crafting for Film and Television with Anything Robert Grasso. And besides being an awesome human, actor and teacher-He is also an outstanding headshot photographer. Anthony took my shots just before everything shut down.
Best,
Lilo
