Hello, This is Marvin Lee. I am a professional comedian with a comedy special coming out (supposedly. People in the business know stuff can be shelved.) (The Joke Factory LLC.) "Have you ever heard the term "Never borrow money from friends and family?" Imagine a situation where a desperate couple borrows A LOT OF MONEY from BOTH SIDES OF THEIR FAMILY to open up their family business and keep the family together. Did I mention that everyone in the family gave their life savings, so if the place goes belly up everyone will be put on the street? Now since everyone put in the family think that they are in charge yet NO ONE has ever run a business. Did I mention that the two different families absolutely HATED each other! Nothing from race, religion, sexual preferences, regional differences, etc. is off the table. But no matter what happens behind the scenes... the show must go own. "Basically picture "All in the Family meets the Muppet show" and you get the idea. Plot: Comedian Marvin Lee comes home after a long trip on the road and finds his wife on the edge because their son just got into trouble in school and his disposition has been getting progressively worse. Apparently their older daughter is having problems too. The wife is tired of being a single parent who's husband is always gone and pleads the comedian to come off the road and get a "normal" job. The comedian feels that if he comes off the road he will be giving up his dream of becoming a comic superstar, so he gets his wife to agree to the next best thing... To opens up his own comedy club. This way he can still perform and still maintain his connections to the industry. Problem: The family quickly burn through their life savings trying to open the club. Now they are in too deep to quit but don't have any money to continue. So against their better judgement they borrow the money to open from both sides of their family. A family that hasn't spoken with each other since the couple got married 14 years ago. Now since everyone's life savings is tied into the success or failure of this club the family is forced to work together. Welcome to the Joke Family.
