Prioritizing Scenes in a Script that you Direct

Hi, Stage 32 members... I tend to prioritize the top 15-20 scenes in a script when I am breaking it down to direct. Meaning: I tell myself that if I can pull off these key scenes, the movie will work, and the balance of scenes will be easier to execute and be less important. It's something I do to gain confidence before embarking on the journey. Take something big, tryi to make it manageable. Does anybody else do this?
