The use of AI in support of writing

Tons of discussion here and elsewhere on the pros and cons of using AI in the creative writing process. I thought I'd jump in on how I use technology to help support where I lack.

I use AI for two specific reasons in my writing. One is to find the perfect name for characters and the other is to make a mock cover to help guide and keep me motivated as I progress through various drafts of the story.

As for Character names, I stink on ice at that end of the creative process. But now I am able to enter the story genre, a description of the personality, employment, physical characteristics and location either by birth or current and I've been very happy with the results to date. Saves me a ton of time spinning my wheels.

Below is the ChatGPT cover I created to help keep me plowing through this fifth book in the series. Now when Black Rose Writing picks this puppy up after the first of the year, hopefully for '27 publication, they have an idea of what I'm looking for when they begin the cover art creative process.

Oh and ask me for a peek at the "From the Case Files of Steve Rockfish" series treatment. It don't cost nothing!
