Video tutorials for my future self

I just finished post on a feature using Resolve for editing and audio.

I do not love Resolve.

I’m a Premiere guy, and I work quickly there. All my shortcuts, the ease of cutting, (ripple edit!) we understand each other. But I must admit whenever I use new software, I gain awareness of what’s possible, even what to look for when I return to Premiere.

Anyway, video editing in Resolve was frustrating, but do-able. Fairlight was confounding. I watched a lot of tutorials, did a lot of things wrong before doing them right. Now I’ve got a handle on it.

So I’ve taken some notes for next time, but I’m considering recording a video tutorial for my future self. A walk through of “here’s how I did this,” so I can review it in the future.

I often record tutorials for my students to show them aspects of animation software. Then it actually comes in handy for me to review the next time I teach it.

Has anyone else done this? Would this be useful to share my resulting video?
