About Matthew

Matthew Craig Scott is a Canadian writer, director, producer, editor, visual effects artist, and composer. He made his first film, Two Sides to Every Story, at age 17, in between high school and 16 hours of competitive swimming a week. The film was accepted into the YoungCuts International Film Festival’s feature film selection and premiered in 2005.

Matthew studied film production at York University. During this time, he worked in both post-production and on film and television sets as a production assistant and certified special effects technician.

After working on nearly 30 productions, Matthew completed a post-graduate program in game design at George Brown College. Just out of school, he was hired by visual effects studio and coordinated high-end VFX production on feature films and series, such as Orphan Black.

During this time, Matthew wrote his next feature film, Remember to High Five the Salesman, which he also directed and produced. Once completed in 2015, Matthew immediately began developing his next project - an ambitious, sci-noir duology - Transmission Volumes 1 & 2, which are slated for release in 2019 and 2020, respectively.

Matthew is beginning development on his next feature film project.
