I joined Stage 32 around 2-3 months ago but didn't have the time to get onto it. So now, I'm getting started. I'm an 18-year-old director/writer/editor. I just finished my education so I know it's time for me to face the big world and get into the film network. Currently I'm working for my dad, Nic Penrake, at Film Engine and Nic Penrake & Associates as editor and assistant producer. I directed one short when I was 16 called 'The Paintbrush', which stars Lois Winstone, Elio Ruggieri and my little brother Jay. The film won me the Best Young Filmmaker Award at the Reed.co.uk competition in May. The link to the film is here. https://vimeo.com/84460096 password: paint So... I'm looking forward in getting to know you guys. It's about time I get some new friends. XD

Love this!
Nice film :) Good on you! I've only just joined Stage 32 and you're the first post I've browsed in my Home page - so, greetings to you from a fellow newbie xx
How lovely. Thank you, Shiona.

This was great!! Great work!!
Thank you, everyone. :D What you watched is the short version of the film. The original, which is almost 8 minutes, is on Vimeo. I'm making some tweaks on it however so I'll let you know when it's up.

Awesome!
Well done, I just finish writing a script, And I am hoping to get some sort of sponsor ship to get it going. Any suggestion.

One way to get some sponsorship is making a crowd-funding video on Indiegogo or Kickstarter. I made a crowd-funding video for 'The Paintbrush' after it was made but you can make one in pre-production. You obviously can't make an actual trailer of your script but you can talk about the story and be specific in what you want to do with it (cast, location, techniques etc). Say it all with passion! Lots of luck on your script! XD

Packing that much poignancy into two minutes is awesome. I really enjoyed that. Thanks...
