2nd Annual Austin Web Series Festival announcement Austin, TX, October 15, 2014: Austin Webfest LLC announces its second annual web series festival in Texas. Still the only dedicated web series festival in Texas, Austin Webfest (AWF) will take place June 25-27, 2015. AWF will be accepting web series submissions from October 15, 2014 - March 31, 2015. Category submissions include: comedy, drama, suspense/ thriller, horror, documentary, animation and sci-fi/fantasy. The Austin Webfest will feature a kick-off party to the second annual festival on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 9:00 PM at HUDSON on 5th located at: 301 West 5th 78701. AWF is headed by a group of local Austin board members (alphabetically ordered): Joe Barajas, Monique Barajas, David L. Carter, Rain Chavez, Eric Robbins, and Danny Trevino. It was only three months ago when the inaugural Austin Webfest took place. Submissions came from 12 different countries and 5 continents. These submissions were narrowed down to a mere 50 selections and were premiered at both the Alamo Drafthouse Ritz and The HideOut theatre in downtown Austin, Texas. There were both a national and international presence of attendees with the awards ceremony being held at the Omni Downtown Austin, Texas. The Second Annual Austin Webfest expects to double its submissions and attendance in 2015. Austin Webfest board members continue to believe the value in keeping the festival unique and intimate by limiting selections and allowing all attendees the opportunity to view each selection at the festival.
