Greetings! I'm Dan Lenard. Voice Actor and Personal Voice Over Studio Technical Consultant ( http://homevoiceoverstudio.com ) and Co-Host of the weekly live webcast, East West AUDIO Body Shop (EWABS).( http://ewabs.com ) With so many other social media sites and groups, I keep wondering, why join this one? As a media professional, I thought this was a good way to interact with fellow professionals outside of VO specific topics and networking. A large segment of the populace in here either has to work with, hire or direct voice talent. Or, you're an actor seeing the opportunity in VO, and may need some technical assistance setting up a home studio. I'm here to offer help to both. If you're hiring or looking for a wealth of talented voice actors with personal studios, point yourself to the members of world-voices.organization, the industry association of professional freelance voice actors. We'll be launching a new FREE voice casting site in the next few weeks, ( voiceover.biz ) where our members, all vetted professionals, will be featured with their demos and contact information. No need for cattle calls and massive demo listens with a pile of amatuers. Just peruse the categories each of our members specialize in, and find the perfect voice for your project. With under 250 members at this time, you'll save valuable time! If you're not a voice actor but in an industry related to VO, we'd like you as a member as well. we all have a stake in the state of the industry and we welcome all points of view. Check us out at worldvo.org Have a great week! :-3)
Nothing stopping you Emily! Lots of great resources out there for you! Be careful of fly-by-night voice acting training and demo companies. IF they say you can make money in voice over, avoid them. Not that that isn't true, but its not an easy path to riches, and in fact is very hard work and takes tremendous commitment. Fortunately, there is possibly one of the best professional communities out there looking to support you. My organization. World-Voices, the industry association of freelance voice actors is committed to people being properly educated on every facet of the business.
Dan, I enjoyed your last webinar on Audio for Auditions. Keep up the great "cheerleading" and reminding us to "follow directions" and to treat ourselves as legitimate business people.
You betcha Jim! Keep plugging!
And --- after a short conversation with a friend this weekend, he was told that having a Facebook page will drive people to your website as this is the first point of entry for many. I created a page in under 5 minutes and it will allow me an avenue to blog to build content. Any thoughts on that out there?
Hey there Dan... great to see you here on Stage 32! We've crossed paths on other forums in the past... Hope you are doing great!
No complaints here!
