Hi all, I've been a journalist for the past 20 years or so, most of that in TV, and also much of it as a newsreader and presenter. I live in Jersey, the Channel Islands - the original Jersey. I'm currently writing spec scripts for TV dramas and sitcoms, as well as re-writing a novel. Just about to head off to the London Screenwriters Festival, for my fourth time, which is a fantastic long weekend of classes, networking and pitching. Might see some of you there.

Never stop writing! A profession is defined by what we do to pay the rent, but writing is a defining personality trait. Best of luck in turning your personality into your career.

I can't help but comment on the thought you wrote - "Best of luck in turning your personality into your career." I've never heard it said quite like that but you hit the nail on the head. I hope you don't mind, but I will be using your phrase in the future to help me and to help others understand and embrace their passion. Your personality is the same as a fingerprint or DNA! You are unique by way of your God given personality. Use it wisely and it can be the best tool you have.
Cotton, thanks for your words - they really touched me (and hopefully, between the two of us, we'll influence others). Best, Carl
