Hey there. I started acting aged 40 and took a year out to study On Screen Acting in 2009. Now have 40 short film credits; 5 feature films and do voiceover work to supplement my meagre working day income. I love this craft and never see myself giving up. I am determined to gain more roles and the respect of my peers. Please take a few moments to view my website at http://seanoconnor.biz Thank you and I wish you all a happy festive period and peaceful 2015. Sean.

Wow! Sean, you're really racking 'em up fast (unless you're over the hill and near the grave)! Keep it rolling!

Any tips on getting into voice overs?

47 now Daniel lol
Hey Jimmy Word of mouth (no pun intended) for me. I landed a regular gig doing voiceovers for a real estate site who do video tours of houses for sale. I have also done voiceovers for an auction house to promote upcoming sales. If you think outside the box a little, there are opportunities. New Zealand pay rates aren't that great for voice artistes, but I am trying to get a voice agent at the moment. Have you looked at voices.com ? All the best. Sean.

Thank you Debbie. It's a tough market here with less productions' happening, but less actors'. It's all relative I guess. I could move to LA and face much more competition for roles; at my age I'm pretty realistic that it would be tough. Happy to push forward here for now. Nobody can steal this dream.

Welcome Sean & Congrats! I'm just beginning my screenwriting/film career at 40+ and excited about this new chapter in my life. For the last few years I've been writing/publishing books, three of which have become bestsellers. Now I'm looking to share my story through a new medium, film. Happy to support you any way I can. Cheers! www.CaliGilbert.com

Hi Cali, How exciting! I want to start writing too. There isn't too much drama or comedy on screens here and I have a few ideas. Wishing you all the very best in your endeavors and do stay in touch! Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Sean :-)

You're welcome Jeanne. Isn't it fantastic that this shared passion drives us all and we have this forum to tell our stories. Have a wonderful holiday season! Sean :-)
I've been wanting to get into voice over work! Are you with a voice over agency then? Who did you record with? :))
Hi Sean. You have the right attitude and delight. I too am so determined. I'm twice divorced (I was the faithful one) and finally began my film career at 58, and joined Stage 32 at 63. The Lord has blessed my efforts in life to know that He will continue so until I'm in my nineties.

A refreshing reminder that age doesn't have to be a deterrent to embarking on new dreams. I, too, was 'bitten' by the acting bug at even a later time in my life. I'm stuck in a rut right now but after reading your introduction and visiting your website I'm inspired to push the envelope and overcome the inertia. Much success to you, Sean!

I started seriously in the movie production business (spent the previous 10 years learning and preparing) at an age when most are eying retirement. Because of this I feel I can jump right in without going through all the highs and lows that many younger movie-makers go through, as expectations are founded on solid ground. Sounds like this may be what has happened with you Sean. Congrats and good luck.

Brave man! I didn't discover that screenplays were what I really wanted to write until I was older than you and about to exit full time nursing.

Hi Sean, I am sixty and just published my first book of poems. It was a dream of mine since I was young. So you see you're never too old to follow your dreams. Best wishes for you to have a happy, healthy, and successful 2015. Don't ever let the world take your smile away.
Just been cast in another short film after auditioning. Loving this journey so far and thank you for your positive comments guys.
