Carol Hoffman in Cleveland, OH here. Thank you Stage 32 for offering this great place to connect with others in the industry! Prior to becoming a writer, producer, director and filmmaker, I was a radio news anchor/news director/air personality and a writer for The Cleveland Plain Dealer. I am also a songwriter and music publisher. My feature comedy, children's movie and documentary all won awards at film festivals in New York, Houston, Flagstaff and Ohio. For my first film effort, SixtySomething, I assembled a cast of 69 local radio, TV and newspaper celebs, along with five seasoned theater actors for the leads. We created music for the movie with local singer/musician/songwriters. I lined up 13 locations and a tour bus. The film was shot in 13 days with guerrilla tactics: one take, no rehearsals. SixtySomething won Best Film directed by a woman at the Ohio Independent Film Festival and a Telly Award. Find out more at www.nibstar.com.
