Introduce Yourself : Quick Intro by Jeff Moran

Quick Intro

I am a international legal specialist and policymaking consultant in Geneva, Switzerland. Don't know anything about documentaries but think I want one made based on a recent legal research project (300 pages total) and experience here. The documentary would be a public interest project with a soft touch advocacy theme...based on real but underreported scandal. The cast of characters includes UN officials, many governments, the small arms industry, and the armed private military security industry. Eventually want to hire a pro team to tell the story and shine some light on, among other things, another example of the culture of impunity within the UN, the growing power of unelected UN elites to clip the freedoms of people and business worldwide. First need some orientation to the documentary process, and some insight into costing the project for potential corporate and private sponsors.

Try Raindance Website, they usually have lots of micro courses and on line stuff about documentary. Just this weekend Kevin Knoblock did a one off seminar in person, in London. I realise you in Switzerland, but you might get some on line connections. Your documentary sounds like heavy stuff, special permissions needed and the like. Oh, and Welcome!

Thanks for the feedback.

That sounds like an interesting project. Totally worthwhile. Stick with it! I'm currently working on a documentary based on a storyline in the Middle East. Won't give away too much here for obvious reasons but like a feature, creating a compelling storyline is key. Wish you the best of luck with yours. P.S. If you get to looking for script help or something drop me a msg. :)
