I own the rights to many true stories from my books and have written a few screenplays, but am much better at writing books. How do you go about selling a book idea for a screenplay?
Hey Marci, this is Julie from the Stage 32 team. I just wanted to let you know I moved your post from Read a Good Book Lately? to Authoring & Playwriting, as it fits much better there. Let me know if you have any questions, and all the best to you!
Thank you, Julie! Regina, I have been self publishing for 34 years. I pitched my Speed Kings film to 18 Hollywood producers 2 yrs ago with Gary Schusetts. He had a history producer (Morgan Freeman, I believe. I pitched his producer) interested and asked me for all my true story pitches. then he died. I have given my books and pitch to Kevin Costner, and am definitely in need of an agent. Thank you for the note & have a great Independence Day!
@Marci, you might be able to find a book-to-film agent on your own. If you have good reviews and good sales, those will help when you query agents and producers.

@Marci, can your publishing agent introduce you to a co-agent or book-to-film agent?
