I send this link out to some of my advisees and script consulting clients. Jake Wagner is perhaps best known as Evan Daugherty's manager. I remember having lunch with Jake, when he told me about Evan's SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN script, which was an older script sitting in Evan's drawer! Apparently, the timing wasn't right for a sale when Evan wrote it, but then times changed, and it sold in a huge deal. Evan has a great manager in Jake, who knew the timing was perfect for the game-changing sale. If you have time, please check out Jake's advice. It reinforces a lot of what's being discussed in the Lounge, including the value of a good query letter! http://www.scriptmag.com/features/screenwriters-world-conference-meet-ja...
Reminds me of the pilot script I have about Julius Caesar being captured by pirates when he was a teenager. (true story btw) lol

Hi CJ, sounds like you know more than I do, and I bet you've seen this article. http://deadline.com/2010/09/universal-wrapping-snow-white-and-the-huntsm... Email me if you want more details on how these deals typically work.
Great article! Love hearing industry insight. Makes me write harder to succeed!
Very informative, thanks Regina.
No worries. Glad you enjoyed the read!
That Jake Wagner interview is a good read. Thanks for posting it Regina.
Really helped Regina. Jake's points are quite valid. The only downside is sooner or later I will have to leave my cave for that coast instead of staying on this coast. Oh well whats a few weeks in La LA land if it gets me a deal?
No worries. Steven, I know a very legit manager in LA who has never met some of his European clients in person. They'll meet when the Euro client has a project to sell in the US and has to commit to visiting LA.
