Introduce Yourself : It's a dog's life... by Suza Lambert Bowser

Suza Lambert Bowser

It's a dog's life...

Writing ego is a big, demanding, and undisciplined dog, always panting for attention, jumping up and planting its muddy paws on nicely-dressed women in white suits, drooling all over its food, then slobbering, licking, and nuzzling complete strangers for a hand out. It's not all bad, however; sometimes humans think you're cute, and, if they really like you, they'll give you a pat on the head! My name is Suza, and, as you have gathered, I am a writer. I'm also a devoted director, producer, and actor. Greetings and felicitations!~

Antonio Ingram

I like what you did there, Suza. Now this introduction was original. Anyway I wish you and your projects all the best.

Suza Lambert Bowser

Same right back to you, Antonio! Are you a writer, too? Slobbering is not a prerequisite, although I have found it useful on occasion.

Antonio Ingram

Yes, aspiring screenwriter. Be sure to check out some of my loglines.

Beth Fox Heisinger

Hey Suza, this is Beth from the Stage 32 team. I just wanted to let you know I moved your post from Screenwriting to Introduce Yourself, as it fits much better there. Let me know if you have any questions, and all the best to you!

Jennifer S. Wooleyhand

Suza, I loved your post! I'm a Golden Retriever-type myself--prone to good behavior and cool tricks...:) Best of luck to you---fetch up success! :)

Suza Lambert Bowser

Golden Retrievers are lovely doggies, yes? Loyal, fun, friendly, good with kids...excellent in the water! Do you bring these attributes to your writing? Hope so! All best!

Jennifer S. Wooleyhand

:) Yes, Suza--Goldens are lovely, with all of those fitting attributes you mentioned, and more. I try to bring the same attributes to all facets of my life, including my writing--with the exception of being excellent in the water...:) All the best to you, as well--keep that bright individuality about you, it's also golden!

Suza Lambert Bowser

Thanks, Jennifer! You're generous! And you don't have to be a good swimmer to love the water!

Jennifer S. Wooleyhand

Good thing, eh? :) Thanks, enjoyed this. Best to you, Suza!!

Jennifer! Holy smokes! I just saw where you live! I spent my senior year in high school living with my family in an old old house in Farmington, Delaware. We used to race harness horses at Harrington Race Track back when i was a kid...then, as fate would have it, in a happy nonsequuitor, my parents went into the tugboat business out of Seaford (on the Nanticoke River). Funny! Delaware has a lot of interesting and poignant memories for me. Huh! How 'bout that!

Jennifer S. Wooleyhand

Get outta here, really? This world, it's small-astounding so! But, Delaware is a hidden gem, full of wonderful surprises. :) My father-in-law was a standardbred man, was one of the trainers for Adios Harry, Delaware's most-famous standardbred racing champion. Does that ring any bells? What a horse! What a man, though, too--they were a good pair. I know Farmington well, and my husband grew up in Harrington. We still have horses, they are just of the miniature variety. :) Tugboating, though--that's a very rare resume item! You must have some unique memories from that, right? My best friend is from Seaford, grew up in the Nanticoke. Seriously--If you ever get through here, let me know. It would be so nice to meet you, talk to someone with similar interests. It's been great so far, huh? :) The dog-analogy, it's no mistake it got my attention. Kismet...:)

Suza Lambert Bowser

Kismet, indeed! You have got to be kidding me! Adios Harry? I remember that name for sure! Very famous! My family and I moved into an old house right on the "Dual" (Route 13) in Farmington. The house was falling down at the time, and we fixed it up, adding horse barns later on. (I think the horse barns are still there.) The house was right next to the fire hall. It was called "Flowers Lot," the old part built in 1759 (the brick part). I'm sure the old Linden trees that used to line the front are gone. I was only in Delaware for my senior year in high school. My father taught High School English and my mother taught third grade at the old Greenwood School (It was all one school at the time). Let's do stay in touch! Fascinating to meet you...and, yes, it is KISMET!

Jennifer S. Wooleyhand

** My original response to this did not stay put, I think I lost connection just as I hit "post"! Or, you may get two replies! In any case, YES, I think I know that house with the barns. :) I'm pretty sure it's the original house? Not much has changed in Farmington/Greenwood--but Dover south to the beaches has exploded with growth! You wouldn't recognize us (I hardly recognize us and still live here). But, we'll take a picture of your old house and send it on to you. Thinking that, I checked FACEBOOK for you, instantly discovered we also have painting in common. Your work really caught my eye and appreciation, it's wonderful! I actually own a little gallery here on the farm, to show my work and etc. We open every fall (The Seven Sisters Shop--check it out when you can, also on FACEBOOK. You may see a familiar face, we sometimes post photos of crowds, or just interesting new visitors). I enjoy painting too much to try to keep up with a full-time gallery. This kismet just keeps getting better! :) I was glad to hear you remember Adios Harry, too...he was some horse, it suits his dignified life that he is still in our memories...

Suza Lambert Bowser

Hi Jennifer! I have been out of touch for a moment! But now I am back and happy that you are also a painter. It's so cool and fun to paint, isn't it? Now, I am amazed at the name of your shop. Please don't tell me that you have six sisters for real! I have five sisters myself! Just sent a friend request on FB. All best and more soon! Great to hear from you! And, yes! We have a lot in common!

Jennifer S. Wooleyhand

Hey, Suzanne! Glad to have you back. :) Yes, I love to paint, to create--my other great passion. I'm doing less of it, lately, but feel the muse tugging at my sleeve, so I'll be back at it soon. YES, I have six older sisters---no brothers--and they're all amazing. It's crazy that we have something in common on this front. too! But probably why we connected--we share similar scars. :) I wouldn't trade them for anything. I saw your friend request this morning, glad you beckoned--it's a logical connection. I post local animal rescue notices, if you can get past that, the other stuff is pretty doable. :) Keep in touch! :)

Suza Lambert Bowser

Holy Toledo! You DO have six sisters! Well, I guess we DO have a lot in common! And animal rescue? Lovely...more soon....All best, Suza
