I just started working with a new client who has a wonderful voice but has no other experience in voiceovers he just got ripped off by another voiceover place that basically he said it was like being treated like cattle they take $3000 herd you in and quickly make a demo tape for you and send you on your way send you on your way

I always warn people about these places because it's not just about your voice it's about acting. James Earl Jones once said a voiceover job is an acting job not a voice job so be careful when choosing A coach make sure you are treated as an individual who may go at a different pace than other people everyone goes at a different pace some come with a lot of experience both on the mic and as actors .acting is the best experience you can have for voiceovers some kind of performing is helpful at least singing standup comedy improv radio again it's not just about the voice it's about getting your personality and emotion through the reads
