I work as a dialect coach in film and TV, and have noticed an exciting upswing in the use of coaches recently. My sense is that this is due to a more sophisticated audience who no longer buys the "Nazi with the British accent (to prove he's foreign)" any more. Younger filmmakers seem also to be influencing this - a very good thing!n I also wonder whether CGI plays a part in this. That is, we can convincingly set a story in Dubai now, using computer technology, so the project must sound like it looks. How important are dialects in your project, and do you feel we're hearing more of them lately?
I love dialects
