Composing : Credits by Jamie Niebergall

Credits

Greetings Stage32 composer's community! I'm brand new here and have been in business as a composer for just a year...And I have a rookie question about "credits." I was really lucky to land a consistent first gig writing VOD/DVD release trailers and featurette underscores for a small media/production firm. These are all buy-out deals, so I don't really get any "recognition" as the composer. So my question is...would it be appropriate in this business to list these projects as "credits" or is that reserved for projects where you actually get your name on a public credits list? Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Did you sign anything yet? You may not be able to get imdb credit but you need to retain the right to publish them online so that any future Producers/employers may go to your website and listen. Usually this isn't a problem, and neither is claiming credit on your website (or demo) but don't expect them to splash your name on anything .

Thanks for the reply, Isaiah. I secured rights to publish the projects on my website, and do list myself as composer. I was just wondering if I can list these as "Credits" here on Stage32 (and in my resumé) or if that is reserved only for actual IMDB credits.
