Amazing! Never seen that before. I wonder how long you can work like that before you need a break? Either way combining hand drawn/painted art with immediate digitization (and I guess use of the 3D space for potentially making 3D models?) is a real step forward.
It really is cool, and I'm sure it's just the beginning. What I love most is that it's being presented in conjunction with the future of storytelling conference. http://futureofstorytelling.org So it's not just another tech tool, it's another way to engage audiences and creators alike. I wish I could go to conference, but for some reason the conference gods think putting every single one, plus festivals, within the same month is a good idea.
A friend of mine works for Science Domes. http://www.sciencedome.org.uk/ 360 degrees storytelling. I can see this technology and that medium linking up. They might have done already of course. The futureofstorytelling conference looks interesting. You have to apply to attend as it's invite only. Still I'm learning a ton on this site in a short space of time. Thanks for the links etc.
Very cool, thanks Laurie! The technology is definitely intriguing, but what I really like about this video is that this guy is all about emotion in his characters.

Yes! Very true, Doug. I love the way his father taught him how to draw, it all started with expressing emotion.
