Writing With A Team

I'm officially embarking on my first experience with writing with a group of people. In the past, I've written by myself and when I'm done I've had an editor give his help/input and then submitting my short stories and novels. Over the years, I've developed my process (but I'll admit it continues to grow and change). That being said, I was wondering if anyone had advice about writing with other people for someone who isn't used to it.

Congrats!

I've written with a few people before on a couple small projects. I'd say you need to know roles, who is the head writer ect. Work out who is best at what and make sure you are all working towards a similar vision. I wouldn't recommend writing with more than one or two people in the room cause then it's just hectic but hey maybe that's just me! also helped infinitly when I liked the people I was writing with. Good luck!

Thanks!

Watch out for personal agenda's that clash with what has been written. They are inevitable but sometimes very problematic.

You may want to consider them signing a partnership contract to avoid any legal disputes. I've cowritten with someone before it can be fun but very difficult. Especially if they have a different style than you.

Also writers duet is a great program for long distance writing partnerships. No I am not getting paid to pomp this. I use it myself.
