Free Beer and Nude Photos...

Now that I have your attention, please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jason Beckwith and I've been interested in film for as long as I can remember. My Uncle was in a little movie called 'Star Wars', and my mother took me to see her brother in some random sic-fi move at the age of 6. After that, I was fascinated by SFX movies, and movies about movies. 'The Stuntman' and 'Hooper' both really made me want to be a stunt man. As I grew up, my hometown was used as a location for 'Sudden Impact' and 'The Lost Boys'. Those were a couple of the first pro sets that I was ever lucky enough to be on. I come from the digital side of film-making. My college courses were in CIS (Computer Programming) and my first jobs involved programming and animating with AE and Director, creating cross platform CD-Roms, like the retail version of the Netscape 3.0 software. As video on computers improved, I moved from animation to editing and motion graphics. Eventually, I was doing a lot of compositing and green screen work. Remember, this was back when Beta-SP was cutting edge. I began to go to sets as a consultant for making sure that the green-screen was properly exposed, so that I could pull a great key. From there, it was an easy tradition to lighting and shooting. I've owned many cameras over the years, and have enjoyed my career a lot. A few years ago, I left the agency and have shot a number of narrative short films since then. Some have even finished post! Now, I'm still shooting for interesting scripts. I love to help a director achieve their dreams. Even though passion projects don't pay well or at all, they are the projects that I enjoy the most! Now, I am creating comics, as a way to get my stories down. I am currently producing 4 titles and have over a dozen books done; 'Taking Eden', 'Chronointel', 'The Tool', and 'Anarchy Beyond the Walls'. I consider all of these storyboards for future film projects. I can often be found running a table at west coast comic cons. Hopefully, my skills, built over half a lifetime, with a love for film will someday amount to a film that can touch people all over the world. I hope to move my audience, and enjoy the day-to-day journey of getting there. Feel free to chat with me about anything dealing with story telling or cinematography.

Aww, man, you got me. Quite an enticing title, and no mention of that free beer ever again. :) Interesting bio, Jason. We definitely have the passion and CIS in common. :D Took a look at your website too. That tank photo is priceless.
