I posted this when I first joined a month ago, but since it's Introduce Yourself Weekend, figured I'd get into the spirit. My name is Jeff White and I've begun work on my first screenplay. I am an editor by trade, publishing government transcripts, so I have a great affinity for the written word. I have read a number of screenplays and have studied the craft of screenwriting a bit. Writing is a lonely job. It's easy to isolate yourself and doubt whether you have what it takes. I have no idea whether I am a good writer or not, and I decided the only way I can discover the truth is if I connect with other writers and show them what I have, take their advice on how to get better, or have a Simon Cowell moment where someone gives it to me straight and tells me that perhaps I'm not cut out for this. So I discovered this forum and I hope perhaps I can meet some fellow writers and exchange thoughts, ideas and suggestions. I am a creative person and I love movies, TV, books, etc. Anything that can help me on my journey as a writer, I am game for.
