Introduce Yourself : Nudder Filmmaker by Roderick E. Stevens

Nudder Filmmaker

Hey all. I'm new to the board and still a tad baffled about social media and electronic communities. :-P So a bit about me. I spent many years as a full-time cinematographer - (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0828737). In 2003 I also founded the non profit organization www.12on12off.org and later partnered up with Hollywood legend Haskell Wexler (who is most often incorrectly credited with starting 12on/2off) Shortly after that, for a variety of reasons, I pulled away from Hollywood and turned my attention to fine-art (www.yesitsapainting.com). That has given me some incredible opportunities, such as designing and building my own house here in the desert in Arizona. Meanwhile, as script I'd first written in 1998, kept nagging at me and in 2013 I finally dove in and wrote a short film version, which we shot the bulk of at the beginning of 2015 (www.learningtodrive-movie.com). We're finally shooting the last of it in just a few weeks here and then I'll complete post-prod. I hope to have it all finished up by the summer and then will continue down the varied paths of sharing it with the world, while I'm finishing up the feature version of the script. It's a scary and discouraging, yet exciting and wondrous time in film and I'm still trying to figure out where I want to plant my next seeds. If you've read this, thanks for your time. :) Roderick

I'm still trying to figure out the best way to use social media too. I think the only thing to do is to do it and learn as you go.
