Hey, all! I'm a published author with aspirations of seeing one of my novels on the big screen (what author doesn't?). Whether that means writing the screenplay myself or generating interest with an experienced screenwriter...who knows. That's why I've been lurking on Stage 32, looking for direction. There's a lot to learn!

Thank you, Vincent. You'd think as the author of three romances, romantic comedies would be my cup of tea, but that's not the case. The novel I'd like to see on the big screen is Father, Son & Grace, a road story about friendship, self-discovery, and forgiveness. But I appreciate the offer!
Cindy: One of my earlier screenplays was adapting a book I wrote. It would probably be a great learning exercise for you to take a crack at it. You can download free Celtx software to help you with formatting: http://celtx.en.softonic.com/ or http://download.cnet.com/Celtx/3000-13631_4-10850080.html http://goodinaroom.com/blog/script-writing-software/

Cindy: Anything I can do to help and I'm hopping you get the screenwriting bug :)
Hi Cindy, Welcome, and I note what you say. I was also an author of 4 books, will suddenly decided to turn one into a script, got an Honorary Mention at Calshorts Festival, and never looked back! It was beginner's luck as have not managed to get the same reaction from a further six scripts! I just keep writing! Good luck with it all and Happy Christmas. Kathleen.

Philip and Cindy, I adapted my novel BUTTERFLY WINGS (2000, iUniverse) as an exercise--I agree that it is a terrific learning experience!

Hi Cindy. I wish you the best in your endeavors. I have learned a lot on stage32 and look forward to learning and hope that goes for you too.
That's encouraging, Kathleen. Kudos on the Honorary Mention! Keep writing and that ship is bound to come around again. :) Happy Christmas to you as well!
