Introduce Yourself : Passion for doing the impossible by Annie Mac

Annie Mac

Passion for doing the impossible

After teaching Art and Film to hundreds of eager students, I turned my own hands to filmmaking with zero budget. You can see my short films on IMDb (Annie Bénichou Macdonald). Lately I started with my life's partner, Bob, a unique consulting service to help people with little means but huge motivation to elevate their writing and hone their screenwriting craft. I'd like to hear from anyone who is struggling with a screenplay.

Angela Landis

Hey Annie! I just introduced myself as well. I just watched Rendez-vous. Thanks for sharing your imdb-it was a lovely render-vous for me to take a moment away from work to appreciate your art! I have written numerous short projects, though am just beginning a feature. So already am struggling with the intimidation of filling up all those pages! Glad to meet you here! Angela

Annie Mac

Thanks Angela! Glad you enjoyed the short film, made with zero budget, but lotsa motivated people. Keep it up. You need grit and guts to be in this business. If I can be of help with the writing, let me know. Cheers, Annie

Renee Grayson

Hello ladies! Welcome!

Annie Mac

Welcome to you too, Renee!! What are you up to?

Jeremy Dewayne Humphrey

Hello Annie! Welcome to Stage 32, as your experience in screenwriting is golden. I have a three part mini-series i am currently working on, and have finished the first part. Since you are a screenwriting consultant, what do i have to do to obtain your services and expertise. Thanks,

Annie Mac

Hi, Jeremy, we'd love to work with you. For starters let us know what you specifically need. Then if you'd like to sample our services free of charge, send a logline , the title, and the first 3 pages of your project to cinemannie@gmail.com

Jeremy Dewayne Humphrey

Thanks for responding. Specifically, i would like an expert in the field of screenwriting, such as yourself, to give me constructive criticism on my screenplay. The only way to get better is to have an objective viewpoint from someone else in the business. Does that sound serviceable? Thanks

Annie Mac

Yes, it does. So can you please email me the logline, title, and first 3-5 pages, so I can assess how I best can help you?

Jeremy Dewayne Humphrey

I've email you the requested information. Thanks again.

Annie Mac

Got it! Back at you, soon

Annie Mac

BTW, do you work with Final draft? If so, can you email your screenplay pages in that format? It will be easier to comment in the text.

Terri Viani

Hi Annie! And welcome! Love the title of your post, I too have a passion for the impossible. =)

Jeremy Dewayne Humphrey

Okay. I will email it to you in that format.

Renee Grayson

I'm a newbie to this...as newbie as they come...LOL. I don't have a script written yet, but I have so many ideas and stories swimming around in my head. I have written a few loglines, but I have yet to write a script. I've never taken a writing class but I feel that I have some really good ideas. Just needed to come on here and get some tips, advice, courage, etc. :) Thanks.

Annie Mac

Thanks Jeremy! We're on our way.

Annie Mac

FEW TIPS from experience, Renee, begin by reading screenplays of films you like they are free online, you'll get a feel for format, pace, dialogue and structure. If you have a budget for this, get a copy of Save the Cat, by Blake Snyder. A great investment. Then write a 5 minutes movie and have your friends, acquaintances read it and listen to what they say. Then, get back to me! Go, girl, go!

Gabriela Gabriela

Good luck Annie! :)

Annie Mac

Thanks, Gabriela -- same to you!

Thanks Annie! :)
