This is an old video, but it's FANTASTIC. Jonathan Stamp, classical historian and consultant on Rome, talks about historical veracity and how history is used by Hollywood for good and evil in storytelling. This is so worth watching through... :) (never let the facts get in the way of a good story.... yes? :) ) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1Wu-zAdbc4&feature=share

Excellent post, Jeff, thanks for sharing. I thoroughly enjoyed this. As an Historic-Fiction screenwriter I found this hugely helpful and reassuring in my approach to historical events and characterization. I particularly enjoyed and appreciated his comments on "Braveheart"!
