I admit I am a big Stephen King fan. I read this book years ago and it is truly one of the best books on writing. Here are some great passages as they apply to screenwriting. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/screencraft/17-screenwriting-lessons-_b_82...

Fave of mine too, I've been an avid reader of King since I was a kid and "Night Shift" made me sleep with the lights on. "On Writing" is an excellent book, with a lot of good information as well as insight into his life.
I'm halfway through The Dark Half. Read On Writing last year for the first time. Can't believe I didn't read it sooner.
I've been a big fan of his work, too. I loved "The Dead Zone" and "Everything's Eventual." I read "On Writing" many years ago and had forgotten I still had it in my bookcase until I read your article. :-)
excellent post! Thanks for sharing!!! I remember reading "It", "Salem's Lot" and "Different Seasons" as a 16 year old kid over the summer and being blown away by them.
