Introduce Yourself : Hola from Arizona by Roderick E. Stevens

Hey all! I've been on Stage 32 for some time now, but have only really taken advantage of some of the webinars and such and haven't quite grasped how best to interact with the rest of the community. I'm interested in seeing what kinds of projects people are putting together and how I might be able to help (in a variety of capacities). In short, I spent years working full time in film as a producer, director and cinematographer; but stepped back to focus on fine art in 2005. The last decade, as you all know has seen dramatic changes in the film industry, especially with regard to the tools available for us. I've spent the last three years completing a passion project of mine (www.learningtodrive-movie.com) and have found myself eager to get back into film full time. It's a changed industry and I'm feeling the need to somewhat start over. Fortunately because of my fine art business, I presently have a window of opportunity to help on other people's projects affordably and would love to see what people are doing and what sort of things they need help with to get their projects done. Again, to be clear, I'm not looking for jobs here - rather looking to meet fellow filmmakers and see if there is anything I can offer to help them. I guess I'm just trying to start over with paying into the karma bank. Haha. I hope that makes sense. I have rather extensive experience in producing, cinematography and editing as well as a fair bit of experience in writing (my recent short won two screenplay awards) and effects work (especially compositing).
