Introduce Yourself : We almost fell off our chairs when we found out that... by Evelien And Dorien Twins

Evelien And Dorien Twins

We almost fell off our chairs when we found out that...

Great...now that we have your attention :) Our names are Dorien & Evelien. As a duo we've been together since conception, as writers we've been working together for the past 18 years. That makes us sound like we've been in a relationship longer than most marriages last these days. In reality we're 28 and, according to a fellow Stage32 members are also called the E-twins (here's to looking at you Bill Constantini). Together we're Twinematography and apart from writing screenplays, we also write industry-related articles for our highly succesful sci-fi website, we do PR for production companies and web design for actors. Currently, we have a few things in pre-production which we'll delve into at a later point. We've only been actively pitching our work for the past 2 years since we could never build up the courage/confidence before that. A life-changing something (losing over 100 lbs each) gave us the confidence to do what we love and share our work. All in all, if we could give people one advice: don't hold out like we've done in the past. Live your craft and let others enjoy your work. Have a good week ahead!

Richard "RB" Botto

Love, love, love this post. Inspiring. Your drive is always evident. How did the pitch go yesterday?

Evelien And Dorien Twins

Thank you, RB :) We think it went okay; actually. Of course there are things we wish we would have said or pointed out more, but it's all part of the learning process :)

Richard "RB" Botto

Ah, but right there tells me how seriously you're approaching this. It is a learning process. No pitch is perfect, but each pitch makes us better. Some writers want to turn the mirror, which is a huge mistake. You both have a huge fan in me!

Matt Hurd

So great to have you both here! Your drive and accomplishments are inspiring for us all.

Evelien And Dorien Twins

Thanks, both. Much appreciated. Nothing good ever came easy... experience comes through working and perfecting along the way. We used to want absolute perfection until it hit us there’s no such thing as "perfect for everyone". We find so much beauty in flaws

David Thorpe

You have a fantastic original approach. You are obviously joined at the spine from the picture! You'll go far like that.

Evelien And Dorien Twins

Hi David, thanks for the compliment! We're very close (yet not joint at the spine) which allows us to work as a well-oiled machine, in different genres and outlets. Judging your profile, we have to congratulate you on your succes. Having lived in the UK for some time, there are A LOT of creatives who'd want to achieve the same things you have thus far. Well wishes!

David Thorpe

Thanks Dorevelien, to put you another way. It's persistence and seeking perfection that get you there. I still have a long way to go!
