Hi, I'm experimenting with writing for VR and it's definitely a different experience from writing in the traditional "linear" mode. The scripts need to be a little more detailed, and you use sound and movement to keep the viewer on track with the story. It's an exciting field that seems to be really taking off now. Is anyone else writing for VR? One thing I'm wondering about is how to connect with filmmakers who are looking for short VR content?
At a distribution panel at the Burbank Film Fest Dwight Cenac of Indyoh was chatting up how VR is going to be a thing. Maybe reach out to Indyoh.com and see what they know.
Thanks Phillip. I'll check them out.
Hard to believe VR has been around for ten years already. Time flies. You should check out the VR websites devoted to the technology, the film making, and the writing. There are many of them and most of the many are pretty good. Good luck and Happy Writing, Dawn!
Bill, yes, and the gear to make VR possible is now affordable for both audience and filmmaker, which seems to be leading to a surge in VR films of all budgets. I've done some hunting around but I was hoping that someone here might have some specific recommendations. Thanks!
Last night I spoke with Dwight about your VR interest, Dawn. He'd look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks very much, Philip. I'll contact him today. And thanks for connecting!
