Well, I am not new but have been keeping busy lately theateucally. Just finished a wonderful 30th annivetsary celebration of lovely Blackbox theatre, Music Theatre of CT, last night. Prior to that I had the privilege of spending the summer at the Lake Dillon Theatre in Colorado, yet another lovely Blackbox theatre. The beauty of these two theatres was their intimacy and quality of direction and honesty of production, not unlike the intimacy of the camera being up close and personal. I am a lucky lady for both experiences. and if you ever get a chance to work in these intimate space . Or see one of there productions, I hope you take advantage.of the opportunity. Granted, a big National tour...or a large film...will pay you a lot more. But sometimes it is just not about the dollar signs. It is about the love and joy of craft and interaction and being up close and personal with your audience. Hoping, though, no matter what you all are doing, that you are getting and sharing the love and joy of it. All the best to you.
Fantastic! Great to have you and your talents here with us :)
Hi Rebecca! As someone who got their start in little blackbox theatres like the ones you're talking about, I know the unique magic they have as well. Thanks for sharing!
