Management Strategies, Queries, Networking

Good morning. I'm Stacey and really happy to be here. I read a lot of the posts so I'm hoping for some smart advice on how to move forward. I write features and TV. I co-own a film production company with my husband, called Through The Wilderness, LLC. We've made two shorts- a Native female action film I wrote, Blessed and a Japanese ghost story about internment called Seppuku. And we were executive producers on First Girl I Loved, a Sundance NEXT Audience Award winning film now available on iTunes, Amazon and other VOD platforms. I'm writing feature length scripts for Blessed and a couple other projects, including a urban ghost story about a slave owner haunting a government housing complex. I'm Mixed Blood and write through multiple cultural and ethnic lenses. I'm not represented by any manager or agent for either features or television. My desire, in addition to seeing features of my projects, is to write for television. I write crime suspense. Character-driven, diverse action mysteries with chicks who kick ass. I have a pilot that a couple folks in the industry have read and like. But they were specifically looking for something else and now my plan is to get a manager and agent with this pilot/limited run series pilot. MAYBERRY CIRCLE: City cop Scotty Turner’s first days in her new suburban home is rocked by a young girl’s death from complex sexual assault. When the community turns on a teenage boy as the suspect and the kids of Mayberry Circle know the truth and seek revenge against their predator, can Scotty uncover the secrets and solve the crimes in time to save the youth and stop a ceremonial murder? I'm looking for representation who can get really excited about television like this. Who are working to get women's diverse voices out there. My strategy is to look at the writers/producers on the shows that I'm drawn to. Find who represents them and contact them. This is cold queries BUT focused and not just a blanket send. First question: writing the query. What goes into a compelling query? Has anyone had luck sending queries? What has been others experience? Second question: networking. Are there specific managers/agents that anyone knows of who would be interested in writer with my voice? Third question: packaging. Are thee specific writers and producers who are looking for content such as Mayberry Circel who are represented already that might be a good match for Mayberry Circle? I'm not asking for referrals. Without knowing me or my work, I certainly an not asking for referrals. What I'm looking for a names, companies, suggestions, etc... that I can send a cold query to. That's my strategy. So any advice would be greatly appreciated. Either post here or PM at sparshalljensen@gmail.com I really appreciate the support. Thank you. PEACE Stacey

If you really believe in your story, pitch it here to one of the companies/producers for afew bucks. I personally would do a Skype pitch. Can't answer your other questions, except that there still is a device called Google, just try it, it won't bite. Rutger
