Back in early 2000, I was in a workshop and the coach always put us on stage after a scene and ask us to reveal something painful or very private that no one knew. I answered, that acting for me was something I could never share with my parents, even though this was my passion, because they always believed that most male actors, dancers were all homosexuas. My eyes were felt with tears and so was the whole room. I think back of Robyn Williams and how much pain he was going through and what a great talent he was. What are your thoughts if you don't mind sharing them, fellow actors and writers?, as I do the same when I write, I connect emotionally on a personal level with my characters

I always dreamed of becoming an actor. Growing up in my home we only watched films in our house. In High School, most guys (Prob all of them) that were in theater were homosexuals. I have no problem with homosexuals but I was so worried about trying to be with the "in" crowd that I have never attempted to do what I wanted to do until a later date since I had friends that made fun of them. I regret joining the theater program in High School because they did awesome work.
All my work (Not Much) that I have done thus far has been infused with my personal life. I once had to bring a loaded object to an acting class. An object that we believed that holds some type of weight and emotional value in our lives. I had no idea what to bring but decided to bring my journal. Everyone presented their objects. Some had heirlooms and others very interesting objects. When I went to talk about my journal, I said a few words and then started to cry. I had no idea what was going on. I never cry. I was always living my life trying to be as tough as I possibly could. This was the first day I knew how vulnerable I really was. My acting teaching hugged me for sharing. Once I knew the power that acting really had... I fell in love.

Christopher Trastoy that's an amazing story. Thanks for sharing. Those who come to acting later are more seasoned coz they have more life to pull from rather than "acting".

Jorge J Prieto I only share what I feel comfortable sharing. I only share what I need for the character.

Thanks guys for your comments, right on point and truth. Acting is ultimately what Meisner said, "behaving truthfully in imaginary circumstances "
