Introduce Yourself : The italian with the german name is gonna sail across the atlantic and shoot an inspirational documentary by Matthias Mair

Hi, I am Matthias from the north of italy and this is for the dreamers out there.

I find it really hard to connect with people and it is not easy to meet the right ones to help me on my project.

In about some weeks I will be in England. I don't even know how I could introduce my project the right way, so let's start with the goal first: I want to make a very emotional and inspiring documentary on the topic persuing your dream no matter how hard it is or how hard it gets. Against all odds, taking the risk and just do it. The documentary is about me, a guy who follows his dreams, a weirdo, full of fears and doubts and not at the best of his health.

My story is quite a heavy one and I have no expierience in sailing and no expierience in shooting a movie. These are just some of the aspects that give my project the big potential it has.

I have this tremendous drive to go out and strive for it, to give my all and to go all in. And I am willing to take the risk, because I know it's gonna be worth it.

I have already written kind of the whole script and I know if shot and edited well it should be the stuff you want to see in cinema, the stuff that makes you cry (like me in the documentary) and goes viral and gets a lot of attention and probably some film awards too.

I know it is a huge project and done wrong I could die and I know I have to learn some basics in sailing a boat and in recording. But the most important thing is I have to meet the right people who see the potential. And no matter if I meet the right ones or not, I will do it anyhow because I am comitted to it...

This year I will set up a crowdfunding campaign. In England I will look for sponsors, journalists and magazines. The documentary is going to be in english, therefore I wanna learn to speak it fluently and more brit like. To the end of the year I will organize a boat and hopefully film equipment and some drones. Next year I will sail from England over the Canaries to Barbados while shooting my trip and telling my story to the world.

Some great sailing documentaries are Between Home, Maiden Trip, Chasing Bubbles (which is for free on YouTube) and Red Dot on the Ocean.

My one will be the next one regardless of if I'll make it or die trying.
