Introduce Yourself : new to Stage32 by Ross Turiano

new to Stage32

Hello everyone, I'm new to Stage32. I'm a video editor based in NYC. I currently work full-time doing post-production on corporate-style videos. I'm looking to see what's out there and help collaborate with people on a short-film, documentary, or anything that can be a creative, fun project. I'm also just looking to make some connections in the film-industry here in New York and/or any advice on trying to break into the industry. Any responses are much appreciated. Please check out my profile for more details about me, thank you!

Does anyone out there happen to know if it's okay to post a short to Stage32 if it's been sent to festivals (for 2017 consideration)? So far I haven't found a definitive answer from any of the festivals about that protocol. I thought some of you who have submitted to various ones may already know the answer. Thanks in advance if anyone might know!

Elizabeth, I think you can to any festival of your choice through stage 32. I have come across thing on the website; just continue to search for a definitive answer, as you said. I know you get one very soon.

Yaedi Elizabeth Ignatow I'd suggest erring on the side of caution. Many (perhaps most) festivals require that a film submission not be available anywhere online other than submission platforms. Oscar qualifying rules indicate that no more than 10% of the short can be online... so nothing more than a trailer.

Phillip knows of what he speaks (no surprise there, of course).
