SAG new media agreement

I'm currently writing a web series pilot and since I have zero experience in filmmaking -- if I "hire" a producer to apply for a SAG new media agreement, do I have to pay him off of my own money or is he gonna be paid off of the SAG budget?

JD Hartman

SAG and SAG agreements deal with cast and their rates. The Producer is not part of SAG and his pay is separate. What do mean SAG budget?

Gregory Green

I agree with JD. You can apply yourself with SAG's online "user friendly" site, BTW.

I've always heard of SAG new media low budget and ultra low budget agreements. Does that only cover the costs of production or also the salaries of the crew and talents?

Lisa Bogner

Or just the talents, for that matter...

Gregory Green

It applies to the entire budget - including salaries of crew and talent. And they will want to see your budget to verify.

JD Hartman

Trying to hide behind SAG ULB or New Media is a way a lot of sleaze Producers try to get out of paying crew.

Come on guys, it's ULB, nobody is making a time unless we sell this thing....., do it for Arts sake.

Which has nothing to do with paying your crew for their work and artistic contributions.

Lisa Bogner

Thank you guys, helped a lot!
