Introduce Yourself : Finally putting myself out there by Gabriel Wettenstein

Finally putting myself out there

I've usually kept to myself and wrote more than I spoke, but now that I've amassed more than enough material to last for quite a while, I feel it's about time I start sharing some of it with the world. As you can see by my moniker, I've created a character based on that one weird guy who you would always come across in just about every situation, which is basically who I've been for 20+ years, long before it suddenly became the new normal, so as you can imagine, I've amassed quite a bit of material.

I've been pitching the show on here for several years, all the while adding, refining and revising but still no takers. I truly believe now is high time for a show like this to grab the TV viewers of today, and I'm not going to stop pitching it until it gets picked up anyway, so if anyone out there wants to know more about it, drop me a line. I'm based out of NYC if anyone wants to meet in person.

Are you pitching a script or a concept?

My latest pitch led to a read and a phone call. Never give up. Invite sent.

I might be pitching again soon, but even though the price has dropped $10.00 from when I first started on here, I have this gut feeling that the people I pitch to are the same reoccurring c-list producers who haven't done anything significant in a while who already have their minds made up and are looking for ways to say 'no', while taking your money to finance their own projects with their own people while leaving newbies like myself at square one. I could be wrong, and I hope I am but I'm currently pondering going about a different route to get my show made. That's why I'm putting myself out there, as I'm thinking there's got to be another way than the 'happy writers' shortcut that's starting to take a toll on my bank account, being that it hasn't lead to anything getting off the ground, and I pick my pitch sessions very carefully too.

So, any and all suggestions are welcome.

hi Gabriel Wettenstein I'm meeting with a producer of 17 films next week thanks to a pitch here. The credits are right on the page. Do your research and make sure the person you're pitching to matches your material!
