I just made my first spec commercial, posted it online (here, instagram, Vimeo, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, even LinkedIn). I’m not sure where to go from here. The main reason I made the spec commercial was because I came up with an idea for an Oreo cookie jingle.
How is the video performing on youtube and such?

Jimmy, I say this to help you and not hurt you in anyway: If you want to be taken seriously, you need to make a professional spec. Now, I understand you may not want to spend one dime on this, BUT, if you got an unknown or a musician friend to record that jingle, and you actually filmed something OR maybe got an animator to do it free - or you tried to emulate other commercials that had a jingle like this - rather than just holding an Oreo in your hand and humming this jingle (was it filmed with a camera phone?) you could get more people to pay attention to your efforts. Do you honestly think this is a spec commercial you could use on a reel to bring in top level clients? I'm really curious for your answer.

The melody is catchy, so definitely take your idea to some musicians, and have the jingle written.

Sam is right Jimmy. Get it together for real
Jimmy - Don't let this hurt your feelers, but a quick word from a producer who occasionally does commercials - nope.
Sam, I’ve been trying to find musicians to do this more professionally, I finally decided to just shoot something, even EXTREMELY low budget just to show the general idea with hopes that if there was anything there, it could be redone with a better budget, better singer, maybe animation etc. This was really meant to just be a basic idea kind of thing.
Ed, it’s actually doing really well on instagram
My main idea was for the jingle.
