Yes, I found Hitch to be very inspirational. I was fortunate enough to meet him on some TV set (I don't recall which) in the early 70's. He was extremely important to my education (not in a school-way); both he and Alma were very gracious hosts at their home. He surrounded himself amid a bevy of gorgeous Actress (all to old for me) - Alma just seemed oblivious. He taught me that writing Drama is simple - it's the story of life with the dull parts left out. I was very honored, but didn't think so at the time.
Wow, Doug. What a cherished memory that is. I would have loved to have met he and Alma (especially in that context)!
