The Best Adapted Screenplay category was sadly the only Nomination for The Disaster Artist, which I thought deserved more. Still, they are one of the contenders to take down Oscar-Winner Aaron Sorkin, along with Scott Frank (who I have some mutual contacts with), James Mangold and Michael Green, who penned Logan, one of the better comic book adaptations you will see. Rooting for either the former or the latter. Personally, I'm a big fan of Frank's work and thought he deserved a Nomination for his Adaptation of Get Shorty and a win for his Nominated work on Out of Sight. Would LOVE to see him and his crew take this one home. Best Original Screenplay is a bit of a toss-up with a very strong slate of Nominees. LOVED The Shape of Water, which could win, however, it could just as easily go to the excellent Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri or any of the others, especially Get Out, which in some ways was revolutionary.

I would like to see MUDBOUND win for adaptation. I think 3 Billboards is going to take original screenplay. I haven't seen it yet but Frances Dormand is a beast.
