When extras have a small speaking part in the film, do you have to describe them like you would a protagonist, antagonist, family members? Or, do you just mention who they are like FEMALE CUSTOMER, MALE TOURIST, PORTLY BOY, etc..? You wouldn't have to like a POLICEMAN, AMBULANCE DRIVER, DOCTOR, etc..!

From what I seen and have in mine, for very minor/ extra speaking parts FEMALE CUSTOMER, MALE EMPLOYEE or EMPLOYEE 1 should be sufficient . I think any more detail is at the discretion of the writer but if the character is a one off or not crucial to the store less detail is ok.
